On June 30, the girls snagged two wins against teams from California, dominating Lakewood’s Wildcats 6-0 and outlasting Oakland’s 510 Pride by a score of 8-7. The girls then went on a tear, winning five-straight games and dominating their competition with multiple-run wins in all but one of the contests.
And they beat eventual pool winners 16U Starters National from Shakopee, Minnesota, 12-8.ĭespite the 2-1 start, the Fury finished 3rd in their pool and went into the 3rd/4th place, double-knockout bracket. They then tied Haymarket, Virginia’s VA Fury Platinum 6-6. In their pool games, the girls started off with an 8-7 win over Impact Gold from Crowley, Texas. The Fury faced teams from Texas, Virginia, Minnesota, and California in their pool and bracket play. “Despite many challenges with weather delays-including tornado warnings in nearby counties, lightning storms, and rain delays-our Fury 06A team went undefeated for the week,” reads a Facebook post by the Cloverdale Minor Softball Association. The Sparkler tournament, part of the 54th annual 4th of July Fireworks tournament, featured more than 1,000 teams from across North America. The Cloverdale Fury 06A team posted a 7-0-1 record at the 21st annual 4th of July Sparkler tournament held in the Denver Metro area, outscoring their opponents 66 to 33 in the process. The Cloverdale Fury went undefeated at a recent tournament in Colorado and now the team is set to compete closer to home in the Canada Cup.
